The Future Held

Winter's desert, held so tight

In frozen earth and endless night

In living sought in empty fare

In scarce resource, a larder

bare

When all seems lost,  with all hope gone

As Winter's icy hands hold on

The Sun returns , a sky so blue

The earth now softens   gentle dew

Caressed, now yields and

from below

A thousand lives begin to grow

Eternal struggle, uncertain, doubt

The future held,  a single sprout
